Union vs. TFC Tailgate

July 13, 2010

After a tough loss last week we will gather our strength to cheer our boys on to victory with a belly full of good food. In keeping with what has quickly become a Tammany Saints tailgating tradition, the Chefs, Mark and Eric (pictured), will again prepare a themed menu based on the regional cuisine of our opponent. The tentative menu is as follows:

-Chicken and hand-made Canadian bacon sausage sandwiches with onion jam and mushroom relish (had to work Canadian bacon into this somehow)

-Slow smoked tri-tip beef sandwiches with maple mustard (popular in Montreal, so close enough)

-Pan fried macaroni and cheese fritters (apparently very popular stadium food up north)

-Some type of bean salad (just so we can say there is something sort of healthy)

Kickoff is at 3:30 pm so we will probably start gathering between 12:00 to 12:30 pm. As usual, bring your own beer and bring games. It’s going to be a hot one so grab anything that makes shade. We are likely going to change locations from the last tailgate in Lot C to the strip of parking closest to the Lot C exit. There is a big swath of grass there where we can put down some tents and chairs and it is also close to the only lavatory within a quarter mile. We’ll try this out this week. If it works, new home. If not, we’ll seek out better turf. See below for where we will be this Saturday in Lot C.

If you plan on joining us for the tailgate please send me an email (tammany.saints@gmail.com) by Thursday night with the number of eaters so Mark and Eric know how much food to get. Cost to enjoy the menu is $10/person to cover food/utensil costs. I should also mention that if you happen to be reading this and you are not a Tammany Saints member, please feel free to join us if you are interested in meeting some new people and eating the best food on Seaport Drive. We’d love to have you.

See you all Saturday!
